Trip to attend my graduation from Western Governor’s University

I was so excited to attend the alumni event and I even got to take a picture with the WGU owl. The owl was so hot, she was panting and they had to keep spraying her so she could be cool. This was such a special opportunity for me.

Yay me! I was given the opportunity to receive a white coat as part of the white coat ceremony that was held for all of the nurse practitioners that were graduating. I think I may have been the only one that was going into psych and I am pretty sure I was the only one from Utah. The white rose was also given at the end of the ceremony and I got to recite the Advanced Nurse Practitioner Oath. All of this was so cool I tried so hard to smile all of the time, when I just wanted to cry with relief and happiness.

It’s kinda blurry because to be honest I had to walk fast to get to the arena because I was one of the last people to get my cap and gown and everything squared away. This is a super nervous excited face as it was starting to actually feel real.

This was a OH MY GOSH moment. Seriously, I started to cry as I walked into the arena. Someone handed me tissue as I walked past them. I was the last to be seated and the second person to walk the stage. The second of all of the departments and all of the graduates. Crazy!

The Seattle Seahawks drum line escorted us from the arena, and they sounded amazing. The celebration in the arena after graduation as we were all leaving was awesome! Again, I was crying because I was so happy!

I love that I “accidentally” got a picture of the Space Needle in the background. This was a “finally I am free” moment. This picture was taken after the ceremony was all over with. I graduated early enough that we had a bit of time to wander around Seattle Center before heading to the alumni event.
